The Progressive Caucus of the NYC Council, which I co-chair, is asking City residents to weigh in on the Mayor’s proposed budget by Wednesday, April 25. While the Mayor presents the budget as good news, many of my colleagues and I are deeply concerned about cuts to critical services for NYC families, including cutting childcare and after-school programs by 47,000 children, decreasing services for people with HIV/AIDS, and reducing funding for transportation, elder abuse services and caregivers for seniors.
What should we fight for? Please let us know!
Your responses to the survey will help inform the Caucus’ advocacy around the budget in the coming months.
I really appreciate this effort to engage community in our goverment.
